Astros Get Great News on the Latest Alex Bregman Injury Update

With a 71-50 record, the Houston Astros currently sit atop the AL West. However, their lead is only down to 2.5 games ahead of the second-place Oakland Athletics, so it's safe to say that the Astros could use a boost now more than ever.
Fortunately, it looks like help is on the way. Third baseman Alex Bregman is ready to continue rehabbing quad hamstring injuries after hitting a setback nearly two weeks ago. The 27-year-old will continuestart a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday

Alex Bregman Injury Update
While no timetable has been given for Bregman's return to the majors, you have to think that he'll need to get a couple of games in before he's back to MLB speed. Nevertheless, that doesn't change the fact that the Astros would like him back sooner than later.
While they managed fine without him at the start of his injury stint, the club has fallen to 7-10 in their last 17 games. Houston isn't in danger of missing the postseason, but they've certainly allowed the A's to climb back into the divisional race.
Before his injury trouble, Bregman was bouncing back from a disappointing 2020 campaign. Through 59 games in 2021, the two-time MLB All-Star had recorded 14 doubles, 7 home runs and 34 RBI while slashing .275/.359/.428. Judging by those stats, it's easy to see why his eventual return could provide Houston with a significant momentum boost.
FanDuel Sportsbook still views the Astros as championship contenders, despite their recent struggles and Bregman's absence. Houston currently has the second-best odds (+450) to win the 2021 World Series, trailing only the Los Angeles Dodgers (+280).
