Rhett Bollinger for MLB.com reports that the Los Angeles Angels will limit Shohei Ohtani to 75 pitches in Tuesday's start against the Texas Rangers.
This will only be Ohtani's second start of the season after a blister on his pitching hand forced the Angels to skip his turn.
Shohei Ohtani Injury Update
Los Angeles is being extra cautious with Ohtani as the Japanese right-hander has only made 13 starts since arriving in 2018.
Ohtani will not be in the lineup as a further precaution, and he could be given the day off on Wednesday. He'll try to help the Angels even up their series with the Rangers after a 6-4 loss on Monday night. He's yet to face the Rangers, and Brock Holt is the only hitter in the Texas lineup that's been in the batter's box against Ohtani.
Los Angeles is as high as a -205 home favorite, and the total is set at 8.5. For more MLB action, be sure to head over to FanDuel Sportsbook, where you can find daily odds for each game, player props, team futures, and even same-game parlays.
