The Houston Astros find themselves in position to make yet another deep October postseason run. Houston sits atop the AL West standings with a 65-42 record, one of the best marks in baseball. This team also went 36-10 since the beginning of June despite missing two-time All-Star Alex Bregman for the better part of two months.

Bregman recently began a rehab outing with Triple-A Sugar Land and the quick results are great news for the Astros. The 27-year-old 3B/SS has been sidelined since June 16 with a quad injury.

Alex Bregman Injury Update

In Bregman's recent rehab outing, the quick-handed infielder went 1-for-2 with a scolding double that supposedly left his bat with a 103-mph exit velocity. The game did end up ending early because of rain but this is still a great sign for Astros fans.

Through 59 games in 2021, Bregman is slashing .275/.359/.428 with 7 home runs and 34 RBIs. He's an important piece of Houston's lineup that ranks first in the MLB with 583 runs scored. Considering they've done much of that damage without Bregman, getting the two-time All-Star back in the coming weeks is a scary thought for opposing pitchers.

Right now, the Astros own the second-best odds (+460) to win the 2021 World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook.
