Aaron Rodgers Has Interesting Response to Davante Adams Recruiting Efforts
By Larry Rupp

It's been a few months since wide receiver Davante Adams left the Green Bay Packers in a trade that sent him to the Las Vegas Raiders. It was a shocking move considering his close relationship with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but Ryan Wood reports that no recruiting pitch was ever given to stay.
Asked Aaron Rodgers if he tried to recruit Davante Adams into staying with #Packers before the trade. "Not really, because we were talking almost every single day. If I feel like I've got to recruit a guy like that back to the Packers, I've already lost."

Rodgers explained that he was in constant contact with Adams and that the two of them talked almost every day. However, he didn't feel it was necessary to "recruit" the five-time Pro Bowler. Going to that extent to keep someone on the roster would make Rodgers feel as if he already lost the battle.
It's an interesting response when taking into account just how impactful Adams had been during his time spent with the Packers. The two-time All-Pro has posted at least 885 yards in each of his last five seasons and has totaled 73 touchdowns in 116 career games played. That is pure dominance.
It's certainly not going to be easy to replace someone that garnered over 110 targets in six of his first eight NFL seasons. Adams leaves the No. 1 WR role up for grabs and also became the highest paid pass-catcher in the league when he signed a massive five-year deal worth $141 million with LV.
The Packers will have to hope a receiving core made up of Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Sammy Watkins and Christian Watson can step up to the plate. Green Bay has odds set at -170 to win the NFC North division and odds set at +1200 to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
