Aaron Rodgers' future with the Green Bay Packers has looked uncertain ever since the team selected Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Rodgers responded by winning the MVP award, leaving Green Bay in a rather awkward position.

Rodgers has been surprisingly open about this predicament, but his latest quote might be his most alarming. Check out what he said to ESPN's Kenny Mayne.

I said last year I didn’t know if that was actually possible to be able to finish there. I still feel that’s kind of where we’re at. I don’t know that a lot of that is in my hands. I guess we’ll just kind of see as we go.

Mayne then asked Rodgers about being a Packer for life, and he followed up with another telling soundbite.

Ken, you and I both know that’s not how it works.

Of course, Rodgers is correct. The front office will obviously have the final say about his future with the team. And the Jordan Love selection certainly did make it look like Green Bay was looking to move on from the three-time NFL MVP, or was at least planning for life without Rodgers.

While he'll certainly be the team's starter in 2021, the rumblings about a potential divorce are getting increasingly difficult to ignore.

It's fair to wonder what the team's plans are after the 2021 campaign.
