With the NBA trade deadline quickly approaching, the Philadelphia 76ers tried to separate themselves from the pack in the Eastern Conference, making a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers for Tobias Harris. With arguably the best starting five in the East – including Harris, Jimmy Butler, Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and JJ Reddick – the other teams at the top of the East likely need to bolster their rosters one way or another in response to the 76ers' bold move.
Here is one trade that each of the other Eastern Conference contenders – the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks – should make in order to compete with the 76ers, now arguably the team to beat in the East.
1. Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics gets: Bradley Beal
Washington Wizards get: Marcus Smart, Marcus Morris, Jaylen Brown and a 1st-round pick
This move would completely change a Celtics squad that has underperformed this season. The Celtics would get another star in Bradley Beal, which just might convince Kyrie Irving to stay in Boston in free agency, or could theoretically replace him if he leaves. Beal would be a potent offensive threat that would keep the Celtics a leg up on the 76ers.
2. Toronto Raptors

Toronto Raptors get: Mike Conley and Marc Gasol
Memphis Grizzlies get: Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas
This is a trade that the Raptors have reportedly already discussed with Memphis and it could be beneficial to both sides. Memphis gets two really effective players and Toronto replaces an All-Star guard with an All-Star guard, while upgrading down low. The Raps no longer have to worry about Embiid killing them on the block if they can trot out Marc Gasol. This type of move would create a Big 3 in Toronto, one that could win the East.
3. Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks get: Trevor Ariza
Washington Wizards get: Ersan Ilyasova, D.J. Wilson, Pat Connaughton and a 2nd-round pick
The Bucks are one of the best teams in the NBA right now, but that doesn't mean they still can't make some changes. They've already traded for veteran George Hill, so why not double down by getting a player with NBA Finals pedigree in Trevor Ariza. The swingman brings leadership to a team with a lot of young players and has plenty of playoff experience to lean on. The Bucks would lose a little bit of depth, but gain a valuable asset in the race for the Eastern Conference title.
