New York Jets running back Elijah McGuire filled in admirably for Isaiah Crowell in Week 15 against the Houston Texans with 21 touches for 71 total yards and a touchdown. With Crowell on the injured reserve list and his season finished, look for McGuire to continue his new role as lead back.

McGuire had an incredibly-tough matchup last week, but things should get somewhat easier on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, who are allowing the 11th-most rushing yards per game (124.1) this season. To take it a step further, their rushing defense actually ranks fourth-worst in the NFL, according to Football Outsider's DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average) metric.

Judging from his body of work over the last couple of games, McGuire is poised to break out at just the right time for fantasy owners. Since the Week 14 win against the Buffalo Bills, he has 41 touches for 154 total yards and two touchdowns.

The only other threat to take away touches from McGuire is Trenton Cannon, but he's not someone to be worried about. Feel confident heading into your fantasy finals matchup with the new lead horse in the Jets' backfield.
