It was a bad day to be a former No. 1 overall pick, as Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers and Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns threw a combined seven interceptions, while Andrew Luck couldn't get his Indianapolis Colts on the scoreboard once.

Newton was picked four times in the Panthers 24-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which is even more brutal since they had three interceptions all season. Bucs safety Andrew Adams had three of them on his own today.

Mayfield did throw for a lofty 397 yards, but he also surrendered three first-half picks and tossed only one touchdown in the 29-13 loss to the Houston Texans. It was an incredibly tough day for the Browns overall, but it was promising to see him rebound and not totally give up on this game.

Luck and the Colts were held off the scoreboard all day against a resurgent Jacksonville Jaguars defense. He threw only one interception, but there just seemed to be no sense of urgency whatsoever with the offense today.

It was certainly a horrible day for each of these former top picks but you know there will be brighter days ahead. Mayfield and Newton will square off head-to-head next week, while Luck and the Colts face the Houston Texans on the road.
