The New York Giants season hasn't exactly gone as they wanted it to. After drafting Saquon Barkley second in 2018 NFL Draft, there was hope around the Giants as they had a star running back and one of the best wideouts in the NFL. However, shoddy quarterback play from Eli Manning has torpedoed the ship and the Giants currently sit at 3-8 with another Top 10 draft pick on the horizon.
Still, Barkley has been sensational this year, rushing for 829 yards and 8 touchdowns while hauling in 71 receptions for 581 yards and 4 touchdowns. He can do it all, even if his offensive line is essentially swiss cheese.
He's been so good on the field and in fantasy that he's on pace to destroy the rookie scoring record.
Eric Dickerson sits at the top with 379.2 points and Barkley is less than 100 short of him with five games to play. Barkley has been so good he's already in the Top 20 and the season isn't even over yet. He's the No. 2 running back behind Todd Gurley on the year and as long as the Giants don't abandon him like they did in the second half against the Eagles, he'll easily hit the record mark.
The future is bright for the Giants, as long as they can draft a franchise quarterback that is.
