5 NBA Fantasy Breakout Players From Opening Week

The first week of the NBA season is behind us, and we've got two or three games under our belt to draw information from. It has been a jam-packed week full of great performances but we had to narrow it down to five for the article's sake.

Here are five players you need to keep an eye on going forward.

5. Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks

Young joined elite company (Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Allen Iverson, and Jason Kidd) on Sunday night as the fifth rookie in NBA history to have at least 35 points and 10 assists in a single game. He's doing a fantastic job of proving the doubters wrong early on with at least 20 points and nine assists in two of the first three games, all of which were on the road.

4. Caris LeVert, Brooklyn Nets

Certainly the most unknown of the group, LeVert has gotten off to a blazing start this season for the Nets. His most notable moment was the last-second game-winner against the New York Knicks on Friday night, but he's also posted at least 27 points in each of the first two games -- his 19-point effort on Saturday came on the back-end of a back-to-back. With a few injuries to the Nets lineup, look for LeVert to be their main producer.

3. Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls

Admittedly, LaVine has benefitted from Kris Dunn not being in the Bulls lineup, but let's give credit where it's due. After an impressive preseason that saw him exceed 20 points in three of the five games, LaVine has now posted at least 30 points in each of the first two regular season games.

2. Kemba Walker, Charlotte Hornets

It's no secret that Kemba most likely will be on the move from Charlotte, and now he's showing potential suitors what an addition he could be to their team. Walker has really picked it up in the scoring department, going for at least 39 points in two of the team's first three games. That feat is quite impressive, considering he did that only five times all of last season.

1. Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets

Jokic actually has the most FanDuel fantasy points (80.9) of any NBA player in a game so far through the first week of the season. Against the Phoenix Suns, Jokic shot a perfect 11-for-11 from the field while sinking 10-of-11 free throws and posting a triple-double in the process. To most, this isn't a surprise to see Jokic doing well, but he still deserves the No. 1 spot on our list.
