Ereck Flowers' tenure with the New York Giants ended yesterday afternoon, but it looks like there are several teams who are willing to give the embattled lineman another shot.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Flowers cleared waivers Wednesday afternoon and is officially a free agent. More importantly, he's a free agent with potential suitors already bidding for his services.
Former Giants’ OT Ereck Flowers cleared waivers today and is visiting the Jaguars on Thursday, per source. He has multiple other teams that want him to visit after Jacksonville.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) October 10, 2018
Drafted eighth overall in the 2015 NFL Draft, Flowers never lived up to his first-round billing and has barely played above a replacement-player level in his four years in New York.
While questionable, Jacksonville's interest in the former Giant makes sense, as they have an obvious need along the offensive line after losing Cam Robinson for the year.
Unless he proves that a change of scenery and the right coaching was what he needed to succeed, Flowers will probably spend the year -- no matter where he goes -- as a swing tackle or reserve lineman at most.
