A lot can change in three weeks, but I think Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' MVP odds have taken this to a new level.

Meet your new leader in the NFL MVP race through the first four weeks of the season. But the most incredible aspect of this surprise catapult to the top of the MVP odds is considering Mahomes was sitting at +8500 just 16 days ago.

We're talking about 28-times more likely to win the MVP after Week 4 than Mahomes was in Week 2.

That's right, you could have placed a wager on Mahomes to win the MVP for an 85/1 payout as recently as Sept. 16.

Of course, nothing is determined yet, and there's practically an entire season left on the schedule ahead, but climbing 8200 points in the odds through the last three weeks is a pretty clear sign that the books think he's for real.

Mahomes has been making waves in the NFL this year after the most explosive scoring start by any QB in league history, but his hype on the field is just the beginning.

Mahomes is not only the current favorite to win the NFL MVP at +300, but he's the favorite by a relative mile, sitting at more than twice the likelihood to win the award above second-place Drew Brees at +700.
