Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is reportedly ahead of schedule in recovery from the second broken foot of his NFL career.

"Yeah, I'm way ahead of the curve," Olsen said, via David Newton of ESPN.com. "Last year at two weeks I was laying in my bed in a cast. I couldn't do anything. I'm way ahead of the curve from that standpoint. It's just a matter of seeing each week how your foot responds and try to add a little more, a little more. What the time frame is, we're optimistic. Hopefully, it's sooner than later.

Olsen suffered the injury in the Week 1 win against the Dallas Cowboys but wasn't placed on injured reserve -- a good sign that he'd be returning sooner than later. The injury is a frustrating one for Olsen and his fantasy owners as the tight end hadn't missed an NFL game prior to last season.

Luckily, the Panthers have a bye in Week 4, so that'll buy Olsen another week of recovery. With no timetable set for his return, fantasy owners will have to wait and see on his progress in the coming weeks.
