The Buffalo Bills' 2018 season is off to just about the worst start imaginable, including having a player retire at halftime of Week 2

Right when you thought it couldn't get any worse, some troubling LeSean McCoy injury news creeps into the picture.

McCoy suffered a rib injury when his offensive lineman fell on top of him, which knocked him out for all but one play in the second half against the Los Angeles Chargers. But that apparently isn't enough to keep Shady on the sideline for Week 3.

Playing through injured ribs as a running back is a lot of things, but most of all, it's just flat-out dangerous. It's not like there is a Super Bowl on the line for this Bills team either.

McCoy has been underwhelming through his first two weeks, with less than 100 total yards from scrimmage as a healthy player, so it's hard to see his production improving as he tries to play through sore ribs going forward.

From a fantasy perspective, things don't look great for McCoy fantasy owners either. Behind McCoy on the Bills rushing totals for Week 2 is rookie quarterback Josh Allen with 32 yards. That's more than four times as many as backs Chris Ivory and Marcus Murphy had.

If McCoy does miss time, Ivory would likely be the top fantasy option in Buffalo.
