The New York Giants defense had a solid showing in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They held the Jags in check without star pass rusher, Olivier Vernon, and it looks like they'll have to do it again this week against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys, on the road.

Although this is a hit to the Giants' defense, the played fine without him in Week 1 and should again be fine without him against a lesser offense in Week 2.

Dallas only scored 8 points against Carolina in Week 1. Dak Prescott looked helpless and that once-great offensive line that propelled Ezekiel Elliot to the NFL rushing title two years ago looked to be non-existent.

Vernon being out surely doesn't help the Giants' defense, but they should remain as a possible fantasy streamer in deeper leagues based solely on the offense they will be lining up against this weekend.
