All week, everything we heard from Browns coach Hue Jackson was that Josh Gordon wouldn't start. They wanted to ease him in after Gordon missed all of training camp and the preseason.

Well, when the Browns took the field on Sunday for their first play from scrimmage, Gordon was out there, but apparently, that was not their intention.

Just when you think the Browns had a decent week, for the Browns, you find out this was all a mistake.

If Jackson had said nothing, it probably would have just blown over as smoke and mirrors as if the Browns were simply trying to throw their opponent off. Gordon was definitely on the "pitch count" that Jackson had eluded to all week, but the first series was apparently not supposed to be part of that "pitch count."

Gordon had a mostly quiet day, being virtually invisible until he caught a crucial touchdown late in the fourth quarter. As a fantasy owner, you understand why Gordon is being worked in slowly but have to hope this "pitch count" phase doesn't last long.
