The San Francisco 49ers seem intent on finding a new starting quarterback with Jimmy Garoppolo's continuous injury issues. The team missed out on Matthew Stafford, and it was seemingly shut down after it had reported interest in Kirk Cousins.

Now, the organization is reportedly turning its attention to two other quarterback who could be acquired on the trade market.

The 49ers are reportedly interested in landing either Deshaun Watson or Sam Darnold this offseason.

Watson is currently going through a public feud with his team that led to a trade request. The Houston Texans seem uninterested in trading their star at this time, but Watson could force their hand sooner than later. At this point, an aggressive trade offer should be enough to entice the rebuilding Texans into dealing Watson.

Meanwhile in New York, it was another poor year for Darnold, who has failed to live up to his third overall selection in 2018. Still, teams around the league are interested in the 23-year-old, who has potential waiting to be tapped in the right system.

Watson and Darnold are two of a handful of quarterbacks that could swap teams in 2021. With several other franchises in need of a new starter, that could push San Francisco to try to finalize a deal in short time.
