The San Francisco 49ers cut cornerback Ka'dar Hollman on Sunday, becoming the fourth team to release him in the past calendar year.

Hollman began his career with the Green Bay Packers in 2019, playing 18 games and contributing 10 tackles for them in his first two seasons combined. He hasn't appeared in an NFL game since the Packers traded him to the Houston Texans for a seventh-round pick prior to the 2021 season, however.

Hollman never saw game action for the Texans, who promptly released him eight days after acquiring him. He played on the practice squads for the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants last year, but was not activated for any games.

The 27-year-old tried to give it a go with the 49ers this season, but did not make it past roster cuts as teams begin to finalize their personnel this week ahead of the 2022 campaign. He may attempt to latch on with another practice squad now that he's been released (teams always need live bodies), although his odds of suiting up in an NFL game appear to be dwindling.
