4 Greatest Running Backs in Giants History

The New York Giants are one of the oldest and most prestigious NFL franchises, spanning all the way back to 1925. Winning four league championships and four Super Bowls, the "G-Men" have brought eight titles to New York City, but they've done it without a handful of legendary running backs.
The current star back, Saquon Barkley, is quickly climbing the ranks of Giants greats, and fans hope he will someday make this list. As of now, however, here are the four best Giants running backs ever.

Best Giants RBs of All-Time
4. Joe Morris (1982-88)
A Super Bowl Champion in 1986, Joe Morris played only one season away from New York in his NFL career. He currently ranks third in all-time Giants rushing yards at 5,296, with 56.3 yards per game (YPG). Morris wasn't much of a receiver, but he had 48 touchdowns on the ground. The power back took home two Pro Bowls (1985-86), and one First-Team All-Pro honor (1986).
3. Brandon Jacobs (2005-11, 2013)
Another bruiser of a back, Brandon Jacobs also played every season but one of his NFL career with the New York Giants. He had fewer total rushing yards than Morris, but split time with Ahmad Bradshaw among others in a more dual-running back era. In terms of rushing yards per carry, Jacobs topped Morris with a 4.5 clip. He also has a franchise-leading 60 rushing touchdowns, helping Big Blue win two Super Bowls in the 2007 and 2011 NFL seasons.
2. Rodney Hampton (1990-97)
Rodney Hampton slowed down during his last two seasons, but he had five straight 1,000-plus-yard rushing campaigns before that. Second in all-time Giants rushing yards at 6,897 with 66.3 YPG average, Hampton certainly left his mark. He also hauled in 1,309 yards through the air as a career-Giant. Hampton was a Super Bowl Champion in 1990 and a two-time Pro Bowler (1992-93).
1. Tiki Barber (1997-2006)
Taking over for Hampton in 1997, Tiki Barber allowed New York to go from one great running back to the next. Barber is actually second to Barkley in both YPG (67.9) and yards per carry (4.7), but first in most other categories. He had 10,449 rushing yards over his career, with 55 rushing touchdowns and 12 receiving touchdowns. An all-purpose back, Barber also added 5,183 yards through the air. He was a three-time Pro Bowler and First-Team All-Pro player in 2005, but he unfortunately never won a championship with the G-Men. A member of the New York Giants Ring of Honor, there is no question that Tiki Barber is currently the greatest Big Blue running back of all-time.
