The Detroit Tigers are in the midst of a long rebuild, but that won't prevent individual performers from making a name for themselves in 2020. Last year, the Tigers had one representative in closer Shane Greene, who made his first All-Star Game.

It's likely that at least one Tiger who plays well could earn an All-Star nod in 2020. Here are three Tigers that could make their first All-Star Game.

1. Cameron Maybin, OF

Cameron Maybin is 33 and on his third stint with the Tigers, but you could make the case the journeyman outfielder is playing the best baseball of his career. Maybin played in 82 games for the injury-hit New York Yankees last year and put up a career-best .285/.364/.494 triple slash line in addition to 9 stolen bases. Maybin will get to lead off for the entire season for Detroit, and he could finally make an All-Star team after 13 years in the majors.

2. C.J. Cron, 1B/DH

Although C.J. Cron spent much of last year sidelined with injury, he's proven that he can be an All-Star caliber hitter when healthy. Cron is one year removed from a 30-homer season with the Tampa Bay Rays and he'll get plenty of opportunities as long he's healthy in 2020. With Cron likely to hit cleanup in the Tigers' lineup, he could have a solid season that showcases his power hitting ability.

3. Matthew Boyd, SP

Lefty Matthew Boyd has shown plenty of potential in his career, but he has yet to put everything together. Boyd raised his strikeout rate from 8.40 to 11.56 last year, but his inability to keep the ball in the stadium hurt his ERA. Perhaps Boyd can get some better numbers if the ball is "less juiced" in 2020, as we saw in the postseason. With his stellar peripheral numbers and great stuff, Boyd can put together a strong season, especially with fewer games in the cards.
