3 Patriots Players Who Have a Make-or-Break 2020 Season Ahead

It's a brand new era in New England. Tom Brady is gone, and for the first time in two decades there's legitimate uncertainty at quarterback. In fact, the loss of Brady has overshadowed some of the other departures the team suffered this offseason, including Stephen Gostowski and Kyle Van Noy.
With so much turnover on the roster, there will naturally be plenty of players that the team needs to step up next season. With that in mind, let's take a look at three Patriots set to enter a make-or-break season in 2020.
1. Jarrett Stidham
As things currently stand, Jarrett Stidham is currently favored to be New England's Week 1 starter, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. To say he's under a lot of pressure would be the understatement of the year. It seems that he'll not only be tasked with leading an NFL team for the first time in his career, he'll be stepping in for the greatest player in franchise history. If he falters out of the gate, it'll be hard to imagine Patriots fans, or the staff, cutting him much slack.
2. Sony Michel
Sony Michel has been up and down through his first two NFL seasons. He flashed a lot of promise as a rookie, running for 931 yards on 4.5 yards per carry in just 13 games. Michel also put together an incredible post season run en route to a Super Bowl victory, but he regressed in a big way last season, averaging a paltry 3.7 yards per carry. Without Tom Brady, this team could be relying on Michel more than ever in 2020. If he doesn't answer the call, New England could be searching for a new RB next season.
3. Isaiah Wynn
Another former Georgia Bulldog, Isaiah Wynn is also in need of a productive campaign. While he's been a solid player when on the field, he's really struggled with injuries, playing in a combined eight games through two seasons. If he can't prove he can stay on the field, New England could start looking for a more reliable option on the O-Line.
