Ah, another NFL offseason where 31 teams are trying to figure out how to knock off the New England Patriots. Clearly, it's easier said than done as Bill Belichick and Tom Brady have made five Super Bowls in the past decade, winning the Lombardi Trophy three times while qualifying for the NFL Playoffs in all 10 seasons.

However, their future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski retired this offseason and other contenders have made massive upgrades in an attempt to win a Super Bowl of their own. With that in mind, here are three of the most likely teams to knock off the Patriots in 2019.

The Los Angeles Chargers were close last season, losing the aforementioned Patriots, 41-28, in the Divisional Round of the 2018 NFL Playoffs. Most of their roster remains in tact from last season, but tight end Hunter Henry returns to the fold for an already potent offense. The Bolts also added Jerry Tillery and Nasir Adderley on the defensive side of the ball, giving them the potential to have the top defensive unit in football in 2019. If a few plays go the Chargers' way this season, it could be them the winning the AFC Championship instead of the Patriots.

Andrew Luck led the Indianapolis Colts to a 9-1 record over the final 10 weeks of the 2018 regular season, but the team suffered a 31-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. The team seemingly improved its offense by signing Devin Funchess and drafting Parris Campbell at wide receiver, and also added seven defensive players in the 2019 NFL Draft. With the most cap space remaining in the league, the Colts will likely be able to sign a couple more big names, giving them a real shot to sit atop the AFC at season's end.

The Kansas City Chiefs were the most explosive offensive team in the NFL last season, and when you're able to score from anywhere on the field, you're clearly a threat to dethrone the Patriots. While we don't currently know the status of Tyreek Hill, the Chiefs have still Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins and rookie Mecole Hardman catching passes from reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes. Defensively, they added playmakers in Tyrann Mathieu and Frank Clark, which could be enough to make them arguably the biggest hurdle for the Patriots in 2019.
