The Green Bay Packers have been one of the most impressive teams in the NFL this season as they have started 3-0 and now take on the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4 on Monday Night Football. As 7-point favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Packers are expected to keep their winning streak going and move to 4-0 on the season.
With that in mind, here are three bold predictions for the Packers against the Falcons in Week 4.
1. Allen Lazard Has Another 100+ Yard Performance
With Davante Adams missing the game due to a hamstring injury, wide receiver Allen Lazard stepped up by catching 6-of-8 targets for 146 yards and a touchdown. Even if Adams is able to play this week, Lazard has become the clear No. 2 receiver on a team that loves to pass the ball. Atlanta has given up the second-most passing yards per game this season (350.3) and now face early-season MVP candidate, Aaron Rodgers. Lazard and Rodgers' chemistry has strengthened this season and Lazard has become a consistent downfield threat for a quarterback known for throwing the deep ball. Look for Lazard to have another big game this week as he runs all over the Falcons secondary.
2. Packers Score 35+ Points Once Again
The most impressive part of the Packers 3-0 start might be their uncanny ability to score the football. They have put up at least 37 points in every game so far and have looked dynamic on offense. Led by Aaron Rodgers' 887 passing yards (No. 6 in the NFL) and running back Aaron Jones' 303 rushing yards (No. 2 in the NFL), the multi-faceted offense does not look to be slowing down. In a matchup against a Falcons' defense that has not been able to stop the passing game in any game this season, watch for the Packers to score early and often. In a game that is projected to be a high-scoring affair, don't be surprised if the Packers find the endzone at least five times.
3. The Packers Defense Picks Off Matt Ryan at Least Once
Matt Ryan has had a solid start to the season but has thrown a pick in two out of the three games the Falcons have played. In fact, Ryan threw 14 total interceptions last year. Going up against the Packers this week, Ryan may have to pass the ball a lot to keep up with the high-scoring Packers' offense. If that is the case, the Packers are bound to come up with at least one interception, as they have in two out of three games so far this season. Green Bay has averaged 2.7 sacks per game so far (T-No. 8 in the NFL) and may force Ryan to get rid of the ball faster than he'd like to. In a game projected to be all about the offenses, the Packers defense will make a statement coming up with at least one interception.
