With a Carson Wentz trade likely happening soon, the Philadelphia Eagles must turn their attention towards building around Jalen Hurts. The young QB has flashed his potential as a dynamic dual-threat quarterback, but he needs his team to make smart moves in free agency so things don't flame out like the Wentz era.

With that in mind, here are three free agents the Eagles should target in 2021 NFL free agency.

Eagles Free Agent Targets 2021

1. JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR

JuJu Smith-Schuster is the exact kind of possession receiver that Hurts could sorely use. The Eagles have downfield threats like Travis Fulgham (14.2 yards per reception in 2020) and Jalen Reagor (12.8 YPR), but adding Smith-Schuster would boost this receiving corps. The free-agent wideout had the ninth-most receptions (97) in the league last season while adding 831 yards and 9 touchdowns. A young QB like Hurts will need a go-to option to rely on, and the former Pro Bowler is certainly up to the task.

2. Joe Thuney, OG

Joe Thuney is as consistent of a presence that one could hope for on the offensive line. He has started in each game for the New England Patriots since entering the league in 2016. Even more impressively, he played in 100% of the Patriots' snaps from 2016-2018, then played in 99% and 97%, respectively, for the next two years. Having a top guard talent who's durable is huge for any quarterback, and the Eagles struggled with injuries up front in 2020, which aided in their poor season. Thuney would be a great addition to protect Philly's young QB.

3. Allen Robinson, WR

The Eagles were one of the worst passing teams in 2020, only averaging 207.9 yards per game (fifth-fewest in the NFL). That's not going to get it done when top teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs can overpower you with elite air attacks. Signing Allen Robinson would give the Eagles' WR depth a much-needed boost. The free-agent wideout posted 102 receptions, 1,250 yards and 6 TDs last season despite catching passes from Nick Foles and Mitchell Trubisky. He's an elite talent who would be a huge help to Hurts on a weekly basis, and whose presence alone would immediately elevate this offense.
