3 Biggest Favorites to Sign Teddy Bridgewater for the 2020 NFL Season

The NFL free agency period is quickly approaching, beginning on March 18. There will be plenty of big-name players on the move, including an unprecedented number of quarterbacks. One who has the potential to be a franchise-altering signing is Teddy Bridgewater.
Bridgewater looked fully healthy in 2019, and with Drew Brees returning in 2020, there's a real shot Bridgewater ends up playing elsewhere.
With that in mind, here are the three favorites to be Teddy Bridgewater's Week 1 team for the 2020 NFL season, according to odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
3. Chicago Bears (+380)
Rumored to be in the QB market as they look for a passer to compete with, and potentially replace, Mitchell Trubisky, the Chicago Bears are likely looking for someone that can protect the football. This is a team with an outstanding defense, and Trubisky's 22 interceptions in the last two years haven't done that unit any favors. Bridgewater threw just 2 picks on 196 pass attempts in 2019, and while he favors the short pass far more than Trubisky does, that could be the direction the Bears want to take this offense.
2. Miami Dolphins (+220)
Long discussed as the favorites to draft Tua Tagovailoa, signing Bridgewater could change those plans. He's not going to come cheap as a one-year stopgap veteran like Ryan Fitzpatrick or Andy Dalton would, so the No. 5 pick could prove to be too steep an investment to pair with Bridgewater. If they're not drafting Tua the Dolphins still have some great options, and they could also try to get a hefty return on trading down to load up with even more ammunition to build around Bridgewater as their franchise QB.
1. New Orleans Saints (+180)
Drew Brees is 41 years old, and the Saints surely aren't expecting him to be a solution for more than one or maybe two seasons. They are hurting for cap space, but considering Bridgewater has proven himself in their system (they went 5-0 in his five starts last year), making the necessary moves to bring him back could still prove to be a priority. It's notable that even as the favorites, the Saints have relatively long odds at +180, suggesting that Bridgewater's future is very much up in the air, and that any number of surprise landing spots are still a possibility as well.
