3 Best Quarterbacks to Add for Fantasy Football Playoffs
By Max Staley

The fantasy football playoffs are here. It's never as simple as just sticking with the guys that brought you here, though. Fantasy managers should be exploring all avenues to optimize their lineups for the postseason, and one of the easiest positions to upgrade (in a one-QB league) is quarterback.
Fantasy Football Playoffs Advice
If you're looking to upgrade at QB, here are three QBs, rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo! leagues, to target for the postseason.
3. Justin Fields, Chicago Bears (22% Rostered)
Starting a rookie QB in the playoffs is not for the feint of heart. But the Chicago Bears' signal-caller has put up at least 18.0 points in each of his last three healthy games, including a 25-point outburst back in Week 8. Now he gets to take on a Minnesota Vikings defense surrendering the third-most fantasy points to opposing QBs. After that, he'll face a Seattle Seahawks defense that ranks bottom-five against the pass by DVOA. Fields' rushing upside (averaging 74.0 yards per game over his last three) gives him a huge ceiling and floor against those beatable defenses. He's a great outside-the-box pick for the next two weeks, and a Week 17 matchup against the New York Giants isn't particularly imposing, either.
2. Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins (44% Rostered)
Tua Tagovailoa has quietly started to turn it on. He's averaging 249.0 yards per game while completing 80% of his passes for 5 TDs to 1 INT over his last three games. He's an excellent start in Week 15 against the New York Jets, who surrender the fifth-most fantasy points to QBs and are among the league's worst defenses in just about every category. He's probably not worth starting against the New Orleans Saints in Week 16, but a date with the Tennessee Titans in Week 17 is pretty compelling. Tennessee surrenders the seventh-most points to the position and should put Tua in a nice spot for the fantasy championships.
1. Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers (30% Rostered)
If he's available, Jimmy Garoppolo is clearly the best waiver wire QB around. Believe it or not, Jimmy G has been the fifth-best quarterback in fantasy since Week 8. He's heading into the playoffs on fire and he's not going to slow down any time soon. He'll face the Atlanta Falcons, who surrender the second-most fantasy points to QBs, the Titans (seventh-most) and the Houston Texans in the fantasy championship. Houston's pass defense is better than you might think, but the Texans are by no means a bad matchup. If you need to upgrade at QB, Garoppolo is probably the best bet out there.
