3 49ers Players in Danger of Losing Their Starting Jobs in the 2020 NFL Season
By Tristan Jung

The San Francisco 49ers are coming off a disheartening loss in the Super Bowl, but they are still favored to return to the playoffs in 2020. If the 49ers want to avenge their loss, they'll be doing so with a reformatted roster after a series of trades and signings in the offseason.

With that in mind, a few starting spots should be up for grabs in 2020. Here are three 49ers players in danger of losing their starting spots.
1. Emmanuel Moseley, CB
Emmanuel Moseley was the starting cornerback at the end of last season, displacing Ahkello Witherspoon during the playoffs and the Super Bowl. However, Moseley is not a sure thing to win the job next year, with veteran Jason Verrett and Witherspoon still in the mix. Although the 49ers didn't draft a cornerback, there isn't a clear option to pair with Richard Sherman.
2. Tom Compton, RG
The 49ers made major changes to their offensive line. Left tackle Joe Staley retired and they surprisingly released veteran guard Mike Person. Tom Compton was brought in from the New York Jets as a stopgap, but he could face competition from Daniel Brunskill and Ross Reynolds. Brunskill profiles as a tackle, but with Mike McGlinchey and Trent Williams likely to hold the two tackles spots, Brunskill could replace Compton at guard.
3. Kendrick Bourne and Dante Pettis, WR
Kendrick Bourne and Dante Pettis were due to slot into the second wide receiver spot after the departure of Emmanuel Sanders, but the 49ers now have talented Arizona State product Brandon Aiyuk to compete at the position. Either Bourne or Pettis could slide over into the slot. The 49ers also have Jalen Hurd to make things even more interesting. There will be a stiff competition for the two wide receiver slots in spring.
