2021 NBA Finals MVP Odds: Kevin Durant and LeBron James Lead the Pack on FanDuel Sportsbook

The NBA kicks off a new chapter this weekend as the 2021 NBA Playoffs will be fully underway. There's a ton of excitement surrounding teams in the playoff field who all have their mind on one goal: an NBA Championship.

The playoff will roll on for two months before our next NBA champions are crowned. And, with every NBA Finals, comes an NBA Finals MVP. FanDuel Sportsbook just released odds for the 2021 Finals MVP award and a few players jumped out as early favorites. It should come as no surprise that Kevin Durant (+420) and LeBron James (+650) lead the field.

After all, these are the two best players on the two teams with the best overall championship odds (Brooklyn Nets +210 and Los Angeles Lakers +500).

Four other NBA stars enter the playoff bracket with rather favorable odds to take home the Finals MVP trophy. Kawhi Leonard of the Los Angeles Clippers ranks third with his +750 odds while Donovan Mitchell (+850), Giannis Antetokounmpo (+850) and Joel Embiid (+900) all sit with odds better than +1000.

Still, this is a race between Durant and James right now. The pair own six NBA Finals MVP awards between them while they let their stats do the talking. Durant finished with 26.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this season en route to the No. 2 seed in the East. James sat out portions of the year with injuries, but still averaged 25.0 points, 7.8 assists and 7.7 rebounds per contest in 45 games this season.
