The wait is almost over. We're not just talking about the 2019 MLB season's Opening Day either, as fantasy baseball and MLB betting all return to the plate Thursday afternoon including a National League battle in our nation's capital and an American League showdown in the Bronx.
The Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics technically opened the 2019 MLB regular season in a March 20 game in Tokyo, but all 30 teams take the field stateside this Thursday. And FanDuel Sportsbook has got you covered for betting odds on all 15 of tomorrow's matchups.
The action starts at 1:05 p.m. EST, with matchups between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees and the New York Mets and Washington Nationals. The Manny Machado-less Orioles (+310) are the biggest underdogs of the Opening Day slate as they hit the road to take on a reloaded Yankees squad.
The highest combined run total for tomorrow's games comes out of Dallas, with a matchup between the Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers at 4:05 p.m. On the other hand, the lowest betting total of the day is tied at 6.5 runs between the Mets-Nationals and the Houston Astros-Tampa Bay Rays matchups.
The Astros-Rays game also features two of the best pitchers in baseball, with veteran ace Justin Verlander taking the mound for Houston and rising star Blake Snell on the bump for Tampa Bay.
Washington and New York's opener certainly isn't short on pitching star power either, featuring a duel between Mets' starter Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer of the Nats.
However, arguably the most exciting part of this year's Opening Day is the chance to see two of the game's biggest stars in different uniforms. Spring Training is one thing, but watching Bryce Harper bat for the Philadelphia Phillies and Machado take the plate for the San Diego Padres could prove to be some of Thursday's biggest highlights.
