The Houston Texans will look to stop a 3-game losing streak when they host the New England Patriots in Week 5 NFL action. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Patriots are slated as 8.5-point favorites, which means they are expected to pull away in this one.

If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 5 AFC clash.

New England Patriots D/ST Fantasy

Start New England Patriots D/ST: The Patriots' defense has started to look dominant as of recent. New England is allowing the sixth-fewest points per game this season (17.5) and has racked up 8 sacks over the last three weeks. They now get to face a horrible Texans' offense that is averaging the third-fewest yards per game in the NFL (263.2). The Patriots were able to keep the stellar Tampa Bay Buccaneers in check last week, which goes to show the impact they can make when at the top of their game. As long as rookie quarterback Davis Mills is at the helm for Houston, it is worth starting any defense that lines up across from him.

Brandin Cooks Fantasy

Start Brandin Cooks, WR, Houston Texans: It's hard to find a reason to start anyone of this Texans' team other than wide receiver Brandin Cooks. The eighth-year pro is averaging 9.8 targets per game and is the team's go-to option in the passing game. Cooks has already racked up 369 receiving yards on the season, which ranks as the sixth-highest total in the NFL. He is currently the WR9 in PPR scoring and the volume he sees warrants a start every week. Facing the Patriots will be no easy task, but Cooks have given fantasy managers no reason not to trust him.

Nelson Agholor Fantasy

Sit Nelson Agholor, WR, New England Patriots: Wide receiver Nelson Agholor finished the 2020 season as the WR34 in PPR scoring leagues last season and provided reliable WR3 numbers. However, he hasn't been able to replicate that success in New England so far. Since his big performance in Week 1 (5 receptions, 72 yards, 1 touchdown), Agholor has hauled in just 8 receptions for 93 yards across three games. The Texans' defense has been underrated against the pass this season and is giving up the ninth-fewest PPR fantasy points to opposing WRs so far. That doesn't bode well for Agholor's upside this week. He should stay on the bench.

Texans Running Backs Fantasy

Sit David Johnson, Mark Ingram, Philip Lindsay, RB, Houston Texans: Fantasy managers looking to start anyone in the Houston backfield should tread with caution. This is the perfect definition of a RB-by-committee approach as each of Mark Ingram, David Johnson and Philip Lindsay saw at least four carries in the team's Week 4 blowout loss. None of these players have scored a touchdown since Week 1 and draw a tough matchup in Week 5. The Patriots are allowing just 4.0 yards per carry this season, which is tied for the 10th-lowest mark in the NFL. It's best to avoid any of the Texans' running backs at this point.
