The San Francisco 49ers are preparing to take on the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday afternoon to kick off Super Wild Card Weekend. The game will be played in San Francisco and starts at 4:30 p.m. ET.

The conditions of the game are already looking to be a significant factor, though. As of Saturday morning, Levi's Stadium is getting hit with heavy rain that is expected to continue all the way through the start of the game.

This could affect not only play-calling, but also the effectiveness of the players on the field. The tarp is on the field right now, but once it comes off the field could get wet and slippery.

The game could become much more of a ground-and-pound affair with lots of running plays and short passes, which could be beneficial to the 49ers with Christian McCaffrey. It will also give Kyle Shanahan the opportunity to call more conservative plays for rookie quarterback Brock Purdy.

The wind and the rain might hurt someone like D.K. Metcalf who does a lot of damage on the deep ball. Nevertheless, Pete Carroll also loves to run the ball and should have no problem adjusting his game plan accordingly.

This game could come down to which team limits its turnovers in the slick conditions. The 49ers are currently 9.5-point home favorites in this NFC West rivalry game according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
