The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a disappointing loss in Week 14 to the Detroit Lions, but they still sit at 10-3 on the season and hold a comfortable lead in the NFC North. With the playoffs approaching, depth is always a priority and the Vikings signed some defensive help.

Vikings Sign Kalon Barnes

The Vikings got some by adding cornerback Kalon Barnes to their 53-man roster, signing him off the Dolphins practice squad. His contract will go through 2024.

The Vikings secondary is dealing with some injuries. Lewis Cine, Andrew Booth Jr. and Akayleb Evans all on injured reserve. Harrison Smith and Cameron Danzlter Sr. also banged up, so Minnesota is in some serious need of extra bodies on the back end of the defense.

We don't know how much of a role Barnes will have, but he should see the field with this many injuries in Minnesota.

The Vikings have a matchup with the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15, where Minnesota is a 4.5-point home favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
