Minnesota Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has been working hard this NFL offseason as he hopes to lead his team to the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Although he's already re-signed several players from last year's roster, kicker Greg Joseph's contract status has been up in the air.
Vikings fans received clarity on their kicker's situation Monday morning thanks to Brett Tessler, his agent. Tessler tweeted out that Joseph is set to sign his one-year restricted free agent tender offer and will be back in a Vikings uniform this Fall.
Greg Joseph Vikings Contract
Joseph was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Miami Dolphins following the 2018 NFL Draft. He went on to spend time with a total of five different organizations by 2020 before signing his initial one-year deal with the Vikings in February 2021.
Joseph impressed in his first season with the Vikings, making 86.8% of his field-goal attempts, with the longest being a 55-yarder. His 80.9% touchback rating was the best in the NFL while the 7.9 points per game he contributed were a career-best.
The Vikings hope that Joseph's re-signing, in addition to their other offseason moves, will help them take home a championship this season. It'll be somewhat of an uphill battle for the Vikings, who have +3500 odds (T-No. 16) to win Super Bowl LVII next season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook
