Even with his name popping in and out of trade rumors, it's hard for Colorado Rockies fans to not appreciate what Nolan Arenado has done with the team, crushing 227 home runs and driving in 734 RBI over seven seasons.
Arenado was a star long before he was a major leaguer too, as you can see in these awesome highlights from his days playing high school baseball in California.
Arenado's trademark power is on full display right at the start of the video, and it gets better from there. It's not surprising to see him go yard (though it sure is fun), but the fact that there are also highlights of Arenado as a pitcher are certainly surprising.
Pitching with the same intensity and power he shows at the plate, Arenado really did it all for El Toro High School. In his senior year he posted a 1.80 ERA in three pitching appearances (including one complete game), while also batting .517 and launching 5 home runs.
It's anyone's guess what the future holds for Arenado, but there's little doubt that he'll continue to dominate from the dish whether he's playing in Colorado or somewhere else.
