Tom Brady left the New England Patriots to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason. Right off the bat, things will be pretty different for the 43-year-old QB. He left what was arguably the worst skill-position group he's ever had in New England to join what could be the best arsenal he's ever had.
But even among names like Mike Evans, O.J. Howard and Rob Gronkowski, it seems like Brady's favorite target might be 2019 breakout star Chris Godwin. Eager Buccaneers fans can catch an early glimpse of their connection by checking out this video.
It wasn't a perfect ball, but Bucs fans should expect to see a lot of the Brady-to-Godwin connection next season. Godwin is the exact kind of receiver Brady loves to play with – a sure-handed, reliable wideout who runs excellent routes and dominates after the catch.
In fact, Godwin averaged 6.7 yards after the catch per reception in 2019, the third-best total among all wide receivers. With Brady's pinpoint accuracy Godwin is going to be in a position to top that figure next year.
Evans and Gronkowski will surely play a big part in the offense too, but Godwin is likely going to be Brady's go-to receiver next year.
