By Larry Rupp

The Minnesota Twins are struggling to keep up in the AL Central as they currently sit 13.5 games back with a 35-48 record. Mitch Garver Injury Update
Garver has already missed about a month of action because he needed to have groin surgery after he was struck by a foul tip behind the plate.
The five-year pro has already been running, hitting, and throwing without any issues. The next step in Garver's recovery is going through catching drills and his goal remains to catch a bullpen session by the end of the week. Any kind of success in that area would definitely speed up his timeline.
The 30-year-old catcher had been hitting well for the Twins before his injury, posting a slash line of .224/.333/.500 to go along with 8 home runs in 135 plate appearances. Garver has also racked up 17 runs scored, 17 RBI and 19 walks across 41 games played this season.
Minnesota is a long shot to make any kind of playoff push and currently has the sixth-worst odds to capture the AL Pennant at +8000, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
