Fantasy production for defenses is all about matchups and situation. That's why so many fantasy managers opt to lean heavily on the waiver wire and "stream" the position by readily adding and dropping defenses every week to find a new starter.

If you're one of those managers, The Duel is here to help with our top fantasy football streaming defenses for Week 16.

Streaming Defense Fantasy Football Playoffs Week 16

1. Los Angeles Chargers (at HOU)

It doesn't get any easier than facing the Houston Texans during this NFL season. Quarterback Davis Mills leads an offense that is averaging just 14.8 points to go along with 265.4 total yards per game. Both of those marks rank within the bottom two NFL teams. This Chargers defense is highlighted by a secondary that has posted 5 interceptions over its last four games played. They should have no trouble forcing Houston into dangerous situations and causing a few turnovers. After all, the Chargers rank as the No. 3 D/ST in fantasy scoring since Week 13 and are owned in just 50% of leagues.

2. New York Jets (vs JAX)

Of course, it's hard to trust the Jets' defense given fantasy managers find themselves in do-or-die playoff matchups. However, this is a squad coming off its best performance of the season. The Jets scored their first defensive touchdown on the year in Week 15 and racked up 3 turnovers overall. They are now set to face a Jaguars offense that has posted 25 giveaways in 2021 (No. 31 in NFL). Jacksonville hasn't scored more than 17 points in a game since Week 6 and is averaging just 5.0 yards per play (T-25 in NFL). Fantasy managers stuck in a pinch can fee comfortable starting the Jets on Sunday.

3. Kansas City Chiefs (vs PIT)

The Chiefs' defense was horrible to start the year, but they have turned things around over the second half. Kansas City has allowed their opponent to score more than 14 points just once since Week 8 and has racked up 10 takeaways over the last three weeks. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger mustered up just 148 passing yards in Week 15 as the Steelers find themselves in an offensive rut. Pittsburgh ranks amongst the bottom half of the NFL in total yards per game and now have to head into a tough Arrowhead Stadium. It's a wonder as to why the Chiefs' D/ST is available in 40% of leagues.
