Ticket Prices for Panthers-Commanders Preseason Game are Shocking

The Washington Commanders host the Carolina Panthers in preseason action at FedEx Field at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 13. It'll be the first chance for fans to see two teams with new quarterbacks. Unfortunately, that hasn't been driving ticket sales up in the slightest.

Daniel Kaplan of The Athletic reported that tickets for the preseason contest on the GameTime app can be found for as cheap as $1. The idea of watching professional football being played at an NFL stadium for close to free is shocking. That is not something that happens too often, if at all.

The prices on competing sites are not too different, either. The cheapest ticket on both StubHub and TicketMaster is listed at a measly $5. Over on SeatGeek, the cheapest ticket is $3. It's suddenly not surprising to learn Washington ranked ahead of only the Detroit Lions in 2021 average attendance.

It'll be interesting to see if the ridiculously low prices can help guide more fans to the stadium on Saturday. The Commanders are slated as a 1-point home favorite over the Panthers with odds set at -115 odds on the moneyline, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The total is set at 37 points.
