The St. Louis Blues and the San Jose Sharks take the ice for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Monday night, with puck drop scheduled for 9 p.m. EST. The Blues will look to even the series at one game apiece after a humiliating loss in Game 1, 6-3.
The Sharks are -135 favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
As it's always smart to hear what those in the industry have to say before placing a bet, here are some expert predictions for Game 2.
Blues vs Sharks Predictions
Derek Patrick, of the The Spread, predicts that San Jose will take a 2-0 series lead Monday night. He points out that the Sharks are 4-0 straight up in their last four home contests against the Blues and 6-1 straight up in their last seven games as favorites.
Tony Sink, of Doc's Sports, predicts that the Blues will pull off the upset victory in San Jose. He noted that Game 2 could be won or lost in the face-off spots, as the Blues have won 51.4 percent (sixth in the NHL) of their face-offs this season, conversely, the Sharks have won 50.1 percent (15th in the NHL).
Winners and Whiners
David Hess, of Winners and Whiners, predicts that the Sharks will defend home ice Monday night. He points out that the home team has won the last six contests between these two teams and that the Blues may not have enough offense to pull off the upset (2.77 goals per game on the road).
Overall, two experts are expecting the Sharks to defend home ice while Tony Sink is going against the grain, believing a Blues upset is in the cards.
