The 2022 MLB season has come to a conclusion, meaning front offices around the league are now going to start shifting attention to free agency. 131 players were officially declared as free agents on Sunday, including six Milwaukee Brewers contributors.
Andrew McCutchen is the biggest name among the Brewers' free agent crop. Though he was productive with 17 home runs and 69 RBIs in 2022, he failed to deliver the results expected as the team's marquee signing last offseason, so it'd be no surprise to see both parties move on.
Omar Narvaez could be a popular target for any catcher-needy teams. He earned his first All-Star nod in 2021, but injuries held him back this past year. He recorded 4 home runs and 23 RBIs while slashing .206/.292/.305.
Utilityman Jace Peterson played all over for Milwaukee in 2022. Though he primarily manned third base, he also spent time at second and first, along with a few appearances in left and right field. He set career highs in HRs (8) and slugging percentage (.382) in 2022.
Then there's a trio of pitchers slated to hit the open market in Josh Lindblom, Trevor Rosenthal and Taylor Rogers. The latter is the most notable of the three since Linblom and Rosenthal didn't appear in the majors for the Brewers this past season.
Rogers was acquired as part of the deal that sent Josh Hader to the San Diego Padres at the deadline. He recorded a 3-3 record for Milwaukee across 24 relief appearances, recording a 5.48 ERA in 23.0 innings.
This offseason should feature plenty of moves that shake up this roster. For now, the Brewers are +3000 (T-12) in FanDuel Sportsbook's World Series odds.
