Saints Offseason Workout Dates Officially Announced

Dennis Allen's first season behind the New Orleans Saints bench was largely forgettable. Between key injuries and underwhelming play across the field, the Saints went 7-9 (their first sub-.500 record since 2016) and missed the playoffs in the process.

Growing pains are normal for a new coach and the Saints should be better in 2023. Needless to say, New Orleans fans will closely monitor the team over the upcoming months. Fortunately for those supporters, the Saints' offseason workout dates have been announced, giving them a better idea of what to circle on the calendar.

Saints Offseason Schedule

New Orleans Football's Nick Underhill reports that the Saints' offseason begins on Monday, April 17 — 10 days before the 2023 NFL Draft. The Saints currently hold eight picks ahead of the draft, including the 29th overall selection that was acquired from the Denver Broncos in a trade for former head coach Sean Payton.

The first round of organized team activities (OTAs) will last from May 23-25. OTAs will then resume from May 30 to June 1 before the final round takes place from June 5-8.

The offseason will continue with a three-day mandatory minicamp that kicks off on June 13. This session is for veteran players, which means it'll give Saints fans a nice glimpse at offseason acquisitions like quarterback Derek Carr.

Each of the NFL's 32 teams is permitted to hold a rookie camp after May 15. While dates have been announced yet, it's worth noting that the Saints held last year's rookie minicamp from May 13-15.

It'll be interesting to see if the Saints can provide their fanbase with championship confidence once the offseason workouts begin. For now, New Orleans sits at +3500 odds (T-No. 15) to win Super Bowl LVIII, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
