Drama involving Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks hasn't ended despite his move to Denver. A new report from The Athletic revealed Wilson asked Seahawks ownership to fire both head coach Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider in February 2022 before his trade.

This news has taken some by surprise considering the good-guy persona Wilson projects to the public. He quickly responded to the claim on Twitter.

Wilson took the high road, heaping praise on both men mentioned in the report. The Super Bowl-winning QB highlighted how Carroll was a "father figure" to him in Seattle. Wilson also appreciated Schneider for drafting him.

Wilson addresses the report as well, saying "I never wanted them fired." This statement is a bit open-ended though, as he doesn't deny asking for them to get the boot. Just because he didn't want them to get fired doesn't mean he never approached ownership about the idea.

Following a string of drama-filled years, Wilson's positive facade appears to be showing cracks. Between the claim he went behind the backs of his old employers and the reported star treatment he's received from the Broncos, the star quarterback's reputation has certainly taken a hit.
