The Denver Broncos player their fourth nationally televised game on Monday night and walked away with a familiar outcome. A strong defensive effort kept Denver very much in the ballgame, but the disappointing efforts from Russell Wilson and the offense resulted in another loss.
Wilson ended up throwing only 188 yards and 1 TD, while getting sacked four times by the Los Angeles Chargers defense. Already entering the game with a shoulder issue, it was revealed Wilson is now dealing with a new injury after the loss.
Head coach Nathaniel Hackett said his QB1 now has a hamstring injury. Reports suggest the gunslinger picked up this ailment in the fourth quarter while scrambling away from one of those 4 sacks.
"I kind of scrambled to move around on one, I had to throw it away, it kind of got me pretty good in the fourth quarter. Just tried to play through it," said Wilson.
Wilson will head for an MRI on Tuesday to determine the exact severity of this new injury. He'll also need to start brainstorming a way to improve the offense with coach Hackett. Denver has failed to score 20 or more points in five of their six games thus far, and seeing the passing offense fail to eclipse 200 yards and the rushing offense fail to crack 100 yards is boiling frustrations over in the Mile High City.
For now, the Broncos hold the 10th-worst odds (+9000) to win Super Bowl 57 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
