The Baltimore Ravens' comeback win in Week 13 was dimmed by the loss of quarterback Lamar Jackson early on Sunday. It's now been revealed Jackson is dealing with a knee sprain that could sideline him for several games.
In response to Jackson's injury, Baltimore has moved quickly to bolster its QB depth.
The Ravens have signed Brett Hundley to their practice squad, his agent announced Monday. With Tyler Huntley as the only other QB on the active roster, it's likely Hundley is elevated to QB2 if Jackson sits in Week 14.
This is a reunion of sorts between the journeyman signal-caller and Baltimore. Hundley spent part of training camp with the team, but he was cut in the preseason.
The 29-year-old has appeared in 18 career games since entering the league as a fifth-round pick in 2015. He got his most extensive run in 2017 for the Green Bay Packers, starting nine games with Aaron Rodgers sidelined. Hundley went 3-6 in Rodgers' stead, throwing for 1,679 yards, 8 touchdowns and 9 interceptions during that time.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Monday Jackson is expected to sit in Week 14, so it could be Hundley serving as backup to Huntley against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Baltimore is a 3-point underdog in that matchup, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
