The Philadelphia Phillies haven't made the playoffs since 2011, but that hasn't stopped them from wanting to change that this season.

Despite not reaching the postseason since 2011, the Phillies have started the 2021 MLB Season with a 5-2 record. They're sitting in first place in the NL East, 1.5 games ahead of the second-place New York Mets.

Even with their impressive start, FanDuel Sportsbook has somewhat disrespected the Phillies by giving them +3000 odds to win the World Series. That puts Philadelphia in a tie with the Tampa Bay Rays for 12th-best World Series odds.

When it comes to giving up runs, the Phillies are one of the better teams in that category, allowing just 3.43 per game (8th). Their pitching staff is also holding opposing batters to a .209 batting average (11th).

Offensively, the Phillies could use a little more support. They're average 3.86 runs per game (17th), which means their average win margin is just 0.43. Phillies batters are also striking out 10.29 times per game (23rd). If the team wants to see their World Series odds increase, they're going to need their bats to wake up and remain that way.

Overall, the Phillies have started off the 2021 season on the right foot. There's still a lot of baseball left to play, so anything can happen, but the Phillies have positioned themselves in such a way that a return to the postseason is not out of the question.
