Packers Reveal Starting Quarterback Plans for Preseason Week 1

The Green Bay Packers haven't played a live down of NFL football since their brutal NFC Divisional Round loss back on Jan. 22. There's been a lot of changes in the past seven months and fans are excited for the official return of Packers football on Friday, Aug.12.
It'll be a small chance for redemption when Green Bay visits the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 of the preseason. The preseason is a great opportunity for fans to learn new names on the roster and see which rookies may turn heads. On Monday, head coach Matt LaFleur revealed his quarterback plans for Friday's clash.
Jordan Love will start against the 49ers in Santa Clara on Friday night, LaFleur says.

Packers vs 49ers Preseason
It should come as no surprise, but third-year backup quarterback Jordan Love will get the start against the 49ers. Two-time reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers will not play.
Reports from Packers' training camp indicate the team has seen an important level of growth in their young backup. Love will have an opportunity to display this growth when Friday's preseason affair kicks off at 8:30 p.m. ET, or 7:30 p.m. CT.
LaFleur recently praised Love's improvements, "I think he’s much more in rhythm. I think there’s more decisiveness. I think you see it in his footwork... It just looks more rhythmical, just looks more fluid and I think it’s translated in his play."
Love did not see any live action during the 2020 campaign, but saw six appearances and one start for the Pack a year ago. He produced mixed results in the small sample size after going 36-for-62 with 411 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.
The Packers enter their first preseason contest as +100 road underdogs, according to NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. The team is poised to contend for the Super Bowl, yet again, and enters the year with the fourth-best odds (+1200) to win Super Bowl 57.
