The MLB Trade Deadline is beginning to heat up with rumors swirling around all 30 clubs. One of the latest MLB trade rumors involves Minnesota Twins slugger Nelson Cruz. Over the last eight years, Cruz has been one of the most-feared sluggers in all of baseball as he's racked up six seasons with 35+ home runs.
There's no doubt that Minnesota finds themselves in the "sellers" position at the July 30 trade deadline. The Twins sit in fourth place in the AL Central, trailing first by 17.0 games, with a 40-54 overall record. According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, three teams including the Tampa Bay Rays, Toronto Blue Jays and Oakland Athletics emerge as Cruz's most likely landing spots.

Of those three squads, Tampa Bay looks to be the best positioned for a deep postseason run. While they are dealing with the Boston Red Sox in the AL East, Tampa Bay sits just 1.5 games back of the division lead. The Rays are fresh of a World Series appearance and top-10 pitching staff by ERA (3.62) and lineup by runs (455). While Tampa scores at a top-10 rate, this team ranks just 18th in slugging. Cruz would be a huge power addition with his .299/.375/.545 slash line and 19 home runs/49 RBIs.
Oakland is also sitting above 50 wins with their 54-32 overall record, trailing the first-place Houston Astros by 3.5 games. The Athletics rank eighth in the MLB with 120 home runs but sit middle of the pack (15th) in RBIs (393) and 13th in slugging percentage (.405).
Toronto boasts one of the best lineups in baseball, which ranks fifth in runs scored (473), first in home runs (141), fourth in RBIs (451) and first in slugging percentage (.456). The Blue Jays seemed to go all-in this offseason with the additions of George Springer and Marcus Semien. And, with Valdimir Guerrero Jr. enjoying a career-year, it might be time to make this lineup unstoppable by adding Cruz.
