NBA DFS 10/29/2021
Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Friday, 10/29, NBA DFS action.
FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 10/29
Luka Doncic Fantasy
Target Luka Doncic, PG, Dallas Mavericks ($10,700): The smaller slate of games on the schedule tonight makes having Luka Doncic in the lineup that much more impactful. The young phenom is averaging just under 46 FanDuel DFS fantasy points per game this season and owns a stellar usage rate of 33.5%. Doncic is showing improvement on the boards averaging 9.2 rebounds per game and his 25.8% shooting percentage from beyond the arc is bound to come around soon. He is worth the heavy price tag.
Tyler Herro Fantasy
Target Tyler Herro, SG, Miami Heat ($6,600): Talk about taking advantage of every opportunity. Shooting guard Tyler Herro doesn't start for the Miami Heat, but he is already putting his name in the conversation for Sixth Man of the Year. The former Kentucky standout is averaging 21.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists on 30.5 minutes played. That kind of stat line does not match up with the low cost it takes to have him in your DFS lineup. Herro is going to shoot the ball as he has been putting up over 18 shots per game and Charlotte plays at the fourth-fastest pace in the NBA. Everything lines up for Herro to ball out.
Domantas Sabonis Fantasy
Target Damontas Sabonis, C, Indiana Pacers ($9,300): Center Domantas Sabonis is coming off his worst game of the season, but it's hard to overlook his matchup against the Brooklyn Nets tonight. The Nets have struggled to keep opposing big men off the glass and are giving up the second-highest opponent defensive rebounding percentage in the NBA (84.5%). Sabonis is a still posting a healthy 43.17 FanDuel DFS fantasy points per game and leads the league in minutes played this year (39.2 average). That kind of volume added in with the fact that he has improved his outside shooting makes Sabonis a player to target.
Wendell Carter Fantasy
Avoid Wendell Carter, PF, Orlando Magic ($6,100): Wendell Carter has posted two double-doubles this season, but has failed to be a consistent scorer averaging just 12.5 points per game. He draws a tough matchup on Friday night facing a Toronto defense that is allowing the third-fewest opponent points in the paint per game (40.4). That is not good news for a player that makes a living out of put backs and layups. Both Orlando and Toronto rank outside the top 12 in pace this season and this game features the lowest over/under of the night at 206 total points. That doesn't leave a lot of room for Carter to live up to his price tag this time around.
Kelly Oubre Jr. Fantasy
Avoid Kelly Oubre Jr, SF, Charlotte Hornets ($5,300): The first-year Hornet Kelly Oubre Jr. has been a hit-or-miss kind of player so far this season. He is purely a scorer at this point in his career given he is averaging just 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game this year. That leaves little upside for him in DFS if he is having an off night shooting the ball. Oubre has posted a career-low 37.9% field goal percentage and played under 30 minutes in three of his first five games of the season. Despite his low price tag, that simply isn't going to get the job done.
