Mets News: Michael Conforto Injury Update is Great for New York

The New York Mets continue rolling with the punches during the 2021 MLB season. This team sits atop the NL East standings with their 37-31 overall record, 4.0 games ahead of the second-place Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals and Philadelphia Phillies.
Part of the punches has been a serious case of the injury bug. But, New York got some really positive news on Wednesday afternoon. The team announced they will activate outfielder Michael Conforto prior to Wednesday's contest vs. the Braves.

Michael Conforto Injury Update
Conforto is one of the most important member of the Mets' lineup. The 2017 All-Star owns a career slashing line of .258/.358/.477 while averaging 29 home runs and 86 RBIs across 162 games.
More importantly, Conforto should balance out a Mets offense that struggles mightily in 2021. New York has one of those strange anomalies with the league's worst offense (246 runs scored) and the MLB's second-best pitching staff (3.11 ERA).
Right now, the Mets own the best odds amongst NL East teams to win the World Series (+850), according to the latest MLB odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. Those +850 odds also rank second for all National League teams, trailing only the World Series favorites, Los Angeles Dodgers (+380).
