With the MLB Trade Deadline officially in the rearview mirror, teams now have one goal in mind. That's a push to postseason October baseball. The Seattle Mariners definitely fall in that category of teams vying for a postseason appearance.

And, Seattle just got some good news on the injury front. That's always a necessary part of the equation on a postseason push. On Monday, Seattle announced the activation of outfielder Jake Fraley from the 10-day COVID injured list.

Jake Fraley Injury Update

Fraley has been out of the lineup since July 18, when he tested positive for COVID-19. The 26-year-old outfielder was enjoying a solid campaign before getting the unfortunate news. The Mariners even assigned their young outfielder to a Triple-A rehab assignment in order to fully shake off any rust after missing more than two weeks of action.

On the year, Fraley has appeared in 40 games while slashing .237/.409/.439 with 7 home runs and 23 RBIs in the small sample size of 149 plate appearances.

Keeping the outfield healthy has been an issue plaguing the Mariners all season. Names such as Kyle Lewis and Sam Haggerty have suffered various IL stints and both remain inactive. The Mariners currently sit 3.5 games back of the American League's second Wild Card spot with a 56-50 overall record.

FanDuel Sportsbook sees the Mariners with just +10000 odds to win the AL West division, but a healthy Fraley may help Seattle make a push for the Wild Card spots.
